What this assessment measures

Twelve statements, three in each of four areas: Safety, Candor, Reliability and Repair. You rate how true each one is right now. The score is not a personality type and it does not change with your mood. It is a read on how the work moves.

Safety

People bring me bad news early rather than after they have tried to fix it quietly.
Someone on my team has disagreed with me in front of others in the last month.
Mistakes here get examined rather than punished.

Candor

I hear about problems from the person closest to them, not through someone else.
My team tells me when a deadline is going to slip before it slips.
If I asked what I do that makes their job harder, I would get a real answer.

Reliability

I do what I say I will do, in the timeframe I said.
My reactions are predictable enough that people know what they are walking into.
Commitments I make in meetings still hold two weeks later.

Repair

When I get something wrong I say so plainly rather than moving on quietly.

How the score is read

Your answers produce a score out of 100 and place you at one of four levels. Each level comes with a plain reading of what it means and where it usually breaks.

Level 1, Managed Upward. Scores 0 to 40.
Level 2, Polite. Scores 41 to 60.
Level 3, Candid. Scores 61 to 80.
Level 4, High Trust. Scores 81 to 100.

You also get a score for each of the four areas, so you can see which one is actually holding things back rather than guessing.

What to do with the result

The point is not the number. It is which of the four areas comes back lowest, because that is the one to work on first. Pick that one, change one thing this week, and take the assessment again in a month to see whether the change held.
