What do you actually value, and does your leadership show it?

Most values quizzes hand you a list and stop. This one asks whether the list is true. You start with 36 values, each with a one line definition about behaviour rather than aspiration, and keep twelve. From the twelve you keep six. Then you drag the six into order, and your top five is the result, with the sixth shown as the one that just missed.

After that comes the part that makes the list mean something. For each of your five values you are asked whether, in the last month, you made a decision where that value cost you something. Yes, a near miss, or no. Those five answers produce a Values Clarity score from 0 to 100 and a level, from On Paper to Lived, with a result page written for it.

The whole thing takes about five minutes. Your ranked five stay on screen and on your result page, and no email is needed for any of it. Anything you type about your decisions stays on your screen and is never stored.

Core Values Quiz for Leaders

What do I actually value, and does my leadership show it?

What you get

  • Your top five values, ranked
  • A values clarity score out of 100 and its band
  • The evidence behind each value, shown back to you and never stored
  • A link to your full result page

Both are optional and anonymous. They only cut the aggregate statistics and are never tied to a name.

Keep 12 of 36, then 6, rank them, then 5 short evidence questions. No email needed, result on screen.

Question 10%

0Clarity

Values Clarity = round(((evidence raw x 1.5) + consistency bonus) / 20 x 100). Evidence is your five answers, 0 to 10; the bonus adds 1 for each top five value you reached for in the first half of your round 1 taps, up to 5.

How this differs

Most core values quizzes, from the personal values lists to the values tests that rank you against a fixed model, stop at the list. This one asks whether the list is true, with five evidence questions about decisions in the last month, and reports a Values Clarity score that can be benchmarked once enough leaders have taken it. It differs from every live instrument on this site, none of which measures values.

What happens to your responses

Your score, your result and your dimension scores are shown on screen without an email address. An anonymous copy of the score and the dimension scores, with no name, email or free text, joins the aggregate statistics for this tool, which are published only when a cut has at least 30 completions. Email is optional. Only if you ask for the result by email is it written to your contact record, and only then. The full rules are on the methodology page.

Common questions

How does the core values quiz work?

You see 36 values, each with a one line definition about behaviour, and keep twelve. From the twelve you keep six, then drag the six into rank order. Your top five is the result and the sixth is shown as the one that just missed. Then, for each of the five, you say whether a decision in the last month cost you something because of it.

What is the Values Clarity score?

It is a 0 to 100 score of how far your list is showing up in your decisions. Your five evidence answers score two for yes, one for a near miss and zero for no, weighted to fifteen of the twenty available points. A consistency bonus adds one point for each top five value you reached for early in the first sort. Four levels run from On Paper to Lived.

Is this a personality test?

No. It does not sort you into a type or compare you with a fixed model of values. It asks what you choose when you have to choose, and then whether your recent decisions agree with you. The 36 cards are original and written for leaders, and the list is expected to change after review. The result is a ranked list with evidence, not a label.

What happens to what I type about my decisions?

Nothing. The optional box for a few words about each yes answer is shown back to you on your result, and it is never stored or sent anywhere. What is counted anonymously is your ranked five, the sixth, your evidence answers and the score, so the statistics page can report which values leaders rank first once thirty have taken it.

Do I need to give an email to see my top five?

No. The ranked five, the clarity score, the level and the result page are all shown without an email. After the result you can choose to have it emailed to you: the link to your result page and your score, nothing else. Take the quiz again in ninety days and compare, which is the point of the evidence check: the list rarely changes, the evidence should.
