Using these in your own work
Coaches, HR leaders, consultants and journalists are welcome to use these with their own clients, teams and readers. Three things make that easier:
- Link rather than copy. The assessments are scored in the browser and the reference pages are updated quarterly, so a link stays current and a copy goes stale.
- Charts are republishable. Every chart in the Leadership Readiness Index is available as a standalone SVG with its source line inside the file, so attribution travels with the image. Embed snippets are at the foot of each chapter.
- Definitions are shared on purpose. The metric library exists so that results measured with these tools can be compared with results measured elsewhere. Align to it freely.

What happens to your responses
Assessment responses are stored against your contact record so your result can be emailed to you and so you can pick up where you left off. In aggregate, and only in aggregate, they become the Leadership Readiness Index, which is published quarterly with a minimum of 30 responses for any published figure. No individual response, name, employer or free text answer is ever published. The full rules are on the methodology page.
Common questions
Are these assessments really free?
Yes. No credit card, no trial, no paywalled result. You give an email address to have your result sent to you, and the result appears on screen either way.
How accurate is a free leadership assessment?
Accurate enough to build self awareness and spot patterns, which is what they are for. What a self assessment cannot do is see you the way your team sees you. That gap is what 360 feedback exists to close, which is why the 360 template on this page is free too.
Can I use these with my own clients or team?
Yes, and many coaches do. Link to the assessment rather than copying it so your client gets the current version and their own result. The 360 template may be adapted for a client engagement with attribution.
Can I see the aggregate data?
The published aggregates are in the Leadership Readiness Index. For a cut that is not published, write to [email protected]. Requests that would fall below the 30 response reporting floor are declined with the count rather than answered with a small number.
