7. Leading Others With Purpose and Action

The final lesson of the series: purpose driven leadership is only finished when your team can find theirs.

Presented by Martha Spalding ·

In this lesson

Your journey toward purpose-driven leadership doesn't exist in isolation. The highest impact comes from inspiring others to find their purpose and take meaningful action. This chapter shows you how to create a culture where purposeful action thrives. You'll assess how your current actions align with your stated purpose and identify ways to more clearly connect your team's daily work to bigger meaning. Through reflection and planning exercises, you'll design specific strategies for modeling purpose-driven leadership and supporting others' growth.

What you will discover

  • Why employees who see clear leadership vision are 4.5 times more likely to be engaged
  • Four keys to purpose-driven leadership: clarity, modeling values, sharing vision, and visible imperfect action
  • How to create psychological safety that enables bold action and innovation
  • The ripple effect: how your authentic leadership inspires others to live and lead more purposefully

Exercise

Score how your current actions align with your stated purpose. Then write two ways you will connect your team's daily work to the bigger meaning this month, and one imperfect action you will take visibly so they see it is allowed.
